You can become a recruiter and succeed without having previous experience or background. Whether you have recently graduated or someone looking to change their career path completely, anyone can learn to become a recruiter without having attended a university or university degree program. LinkedIn conducted a search among 100,000 recruiters and found that the highest qualifications most recruiters hold are in five fields: psychology, business, marketing, human resources and sociology. The moral of the story: Don't be afraid to sell yourself and sell your transferable skills.
An inexperienced recruiter works in the search, recruitment and selection of qualified candidates. As an inexperienced recruiter, you can start your career in an entry-level position in a company or organization. You rely on senior human resources staff or perform your duties under the direction of senior recruiters. Their responsibilities include creating a network of contacts to help with hiring.
You connect with job seekers in a variety of ways, such as at universities, job fairs, or through personal connections. It can help interview a candidate and explain the benefits of working for their employer. It usually just happens and if you ask most recruiters their story, this will include starting a completely different career and then moving on to become a recruiter. At that point I took a day off from work, printed out a list of the recruitment agencies in my area (I'm also getting older) in alphabetical order and cold-called each one of them to sell me and ask for a brief meeting with a branch manager.
To my corporate recruiter friends who believe that only agency recruiters should know how to sell, I'll respectfully tell them that they're wrong and don't agree. One of the best recruiters I've ever worked with was a software developer who decided to pursue hiring and found that he was doing it incredibly well. Establish contacts with recruiters from agencies and companies, as well as with suppliers, who will be able to share a wealth of knowledge, not to mention that it will be on their radar the next time they look for a recruiter or supplier.
A recruitment career is starting to look good, but that doesn't mean it's the right job for everyone.
